I am trying to read an HFS+ harddrive using a LinkStation Duo (LS-WX1.0TL/1D-R, firmware version 1.54?). I connect the harddrive and the function light goes on for some time. I can see the drive mounted with the following info:
USB Disk 1, External, 201,633KB, 22,850KB, 11.33%, FAT, Generic, External
The disk is 1TB and Disk Utility on OS X clearly shows only one HFS+ partition, so the info is clearly wrong. The manual for LinkStation seems to suggest that I can mount HFS+ drives in read only mode. So, why does this not work? Is the manual wrong, or is it something in my setup?

EDIT: Forgot to add that the disk has a GUID partition table.
