: rdreher July 29, 2011, 10:22:22 AM

I have an ls-wxl that when I turn on the info led blink 6 times, he do not get IP from dhcp server and I have not access to the web interface.

If I press the function button the power blue led blink infinitely.

I try to reset the device pressing function button and powering on, but the problem persist.

I don't know the current firmware level.

What I can do in this case?

Thanks for the atention.

You need to follow FAQ 3 of 5 to restore access to the unit.

I am having the same problem.  I tried this approach and continue to get the 6 blinking red light sequence.  What does this mean and is there another solution?

E06 Means Broken ( Damaged ) Firmware,

You need to follow FAQ 3 of 5 to restore access to the unit.

I've tried that recovery process many times with no solution.  I am getting very good at steps 2 and 3, but with the same bad results.

My setup:

1. PC is XP in safe mode set to IP 192.168.11.1 with only wired Ethernet active.

2. NAS is LS-WX2.0TL/R1.

3. Direct connect with standard Ethernet cable.  (Yes, I tried many different cables.

Process:

1. Startup PC is XP safe mode and login as administrator.

2. Power on LS then start TFTP boot recovery app.

3. LS boots with blinking power light then goes to E06 light pattern.  I press the function button and Error light turns off and power light blinks for about 1 minute.

4. The boot blocks are transferred to the LS through the TFTP app in 2 passes.  4,249 blocks then 17,370 blocks.

5. Then I run the NASNAVI v2.55 to dicover the LS.  Hit the refresh and NASNAVI requests to change the IP.  I click Yes and the IP is changed.  The enter for the LS is shown correctly on the NASNAVI screen.  A web browser session automatically starts but the web server refuses the connection with error 102.  I close the web browser and TFTP and leave NASNAVI running.

6. I then run the LSupdate app to write the new firmware.  I have changed the .ini file as documented.  (I have tried many different combinations).

7. The firmware transfers and writes three different sessions successfully.

8a. If the format flag is set, the formatting goes to compeletion then failes with error: "Failed to formatting (0xFFFFFFFE) Updating is Aborted".

8b. If the formating flag is no set, the firmware writing complests then gice an error message: "Couldn't confirm response.  Updating is aborted".

I have tried the firmware update with v1.54, 1.62 and 1.63.  All with the same results.

Can someone explain the step 8 results?  AND how to proceed from here.

1- What brought up E06 message in the first place.

2-afer tftp unit went in to EM mode and you follow the steps from FAQ (2of5) When nasnav asked you to cange te IP addres of he LS did you change your PC Lan settings to" Automatically Detect Settings" as well.?

3-try full debug literaly select everything on the options

The Automatic settings did the trick.

Thanks.

This post should give you what you need to re-install the firmware on that device.
