: Error during a backup between two LS-CHL
: kirk54 January 05, 2011, 03:34:35 AM

Hello,

We have in our office one LS-CH500L (first hardware version, V1.07). Each week i connect to our network a second LS-CH500L, and i start a backup. Today, i receive somes emails notifications during backup, with the following error :

HDD error occurred
Disk(s) the error occurred:UnknownDisk()

(sda) READ sector:148481752 count:1
Disk writing error
RAID drive error will be repaired automatically.
Continuous Back-up is recommended.

 and 2 other mails with the same sector. When i launch NASNavigator, the unit concerned is in EM Mode, and his name is wrong.

What can i do ? Our unit is definitively broken ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

It depends, is the data backed up elsewhere?  If you aren't concerned about the data on the device it opens up our troubleshooting options quite a bit.  If it isn't then you may want to explore data recovery as further troubleshooting could harm the data.

If you aren't concerned about the data then I would recommend performing a force firmware update with the option to "rebuild the partition table" checked:
