Hi All,
After upgrading from from firmware 1.26 of the LS-WXL Duo 2TB to version 1.31 the Media DLNA Server is non functional. Access to Twonky settings on port 9050 now presents an empty page only.
Has anybody else seen this problem, I have tried force downgrading back to 1.26 and the same error occurs.
Thanks for any ideas,
Cheers
Serge
The same for me. But, in addition, I couldn't access to Twonky configuration page on port 9050 !
Back to 1.24 and the server is ok.
they have enabled a very old beta of twonky 5.0.34 on wxl and xhl
and its buggy and junk
twonky 4.4.19 is still in /usr/local/twonky
5.0.34 is in /usr/local/twonky-alt
i dont know what they are thinking tbh
a downgrade back to 1.26 does fix it
you musnt have forced a flash
if your device is open you can also edit twonky.sh to run twonky 4.4.19 on 1.31
Thanks for the responses,
I will try a downgrade back to 1.26 again and see if that fixes the problem. Regarding 'open'ing up the NAS drive, is that a case of modifying the 1.32 or 1.26 image as per Open Stock Firmware an enable telnet ot SSH to the LS-WXL Duo?
Thanks for all your help.
buffalo dont like people taking about how to open the device
as buffalo void the warranty on any device with modified firmware
try another forum :smileyhappy:
Hi,
I have same problem with firmware 1.31 and 1.26. I downgrade in firmware 1.24 and all is OK
Regards,
Gerald
Please explain how we can re flash into 1.24 as I am another person to have gone to 1.31. Itunes sees the linkstation but all my other DLNA devices that previously had no issues detecting the Linkstation now cannot detect ir. Please advise. Bufffalo support does not return my emails.

The same way as you did for 1.31. Just choose 1.24 version when you download.
If you look in the available downloads the only version available is 1.31 so I ask again my question how to reflash back to 1.24 and what does buffalo say about this?? Please advise.
I don't understand where you are lookink for ?

I have the same problem! After upgrading to V 1.31 on my Linkstation mini the Server is broken!
HELLO BUFFALO!!!! I want it back!
I have the same issue, so I asked Buffalo EMEA support, and this is what they said (word for word):
Be aware first of all that anything stated on the Buffalo forum is valid for the North American region. Their firmware have differences from ours, therefore what you read in there might not be applicable in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
The only configuration page we support on our unit is indeed the main page you are taken to when typing the IP address of your NAS in the web browser. Any other modification is not supported and if bricked that way will void the warranty of the product.
The fact that the port 9050 has been closed is to prevent the above from happening. Future releases will have the same behavior I am afraid.
The firmware for EMEA seems to be identical to US except for LSUpdater.ini and linkstation_version.ini.
The changes are for added products, but the sections for LS-WXL are the same.
It seems that all other files are binary identical.
I leave the interpretation of the message above to your imagination (my interpretation of the above isn't exactly positive).
Btw, he says port 9050 was closed, but that isn't entirely true. The page which should be present isn't, but it shows the blank page as everyone else mentioned.
The TM favicon is also displayed (in firefox at least).
I have a LS-WXL (Linkstation Duo).
Buffalo EMEA doesn't have forums, so I guess even europeans end up in these forums.
In case there is no repsonse under port 9050 the twonky media server is not running. Update to firmware 1.34 while cutting internet connection help. However you would need to modify /etc/init.d/twonky.sh in order to prevent that the twonky server is being updated again to a crappy verion upon restart. Nor should you press 'Update DTCP-IP Function' from the web interface.

Good luck!
