: LS-210 - help with cameras and remote directory
: Steve247 January 03, 2021, 05:26:42 PM
Hi,
I have a LS-XHL that is dying and I've just replaced it with a new LS-210D. I'm trying to redirect where my home POE security cameras store their files. The camera inside used to go to the XHL to "/disk1/Cameras/Inside/". I've tried the same with the 210D but it's not working. When I test the connection it fails.

The camera setup looks like this:

Server address: 192.168.0.5
Port:21
User Name: admin
Password: ********
Remote Directory: /disk1/Cameras/Inside/

Yes, I've changed the server address.

Thanks for any help!

Have you confirmed FTP is enabled on the new linkstation?

Great!

I think your best bet is to try connecting to it over FTP from a PC. This should allow you to test the username and password and verify that the user you are using has write privileges to the driectory that the camera normally uploads files to.

The problem is almost certainly with one of those 3 things.

I finally got back to working on this. Thanks for the FTP idea, it helped. I decided to change my password to something without a special character, i.e. &, and it worked.

Thanks!
