Purchased this about 5months ago, and had served me well but out of nowhere its stopped turning on.
No sounds, no startup, nothing - not sure if its normal, but there's a slight burnt-out type smell coming from the back (don't remember if it was always like that).
I contacted amazon (place of purchase) and Buffalo - both said that I have to return the entire harddrive to get a replacement. Surely that defeats the purpose - I'm almost certain that the actual harddrive/data is fine, I see no reason why it wouldn't be!
Is there anyone else who has had the same problem?
Is there a guide on how to open them to remove the harddrive? I think thats my option...
Thanks for that response.
UFS Explorer wouldn't work when the Harddrive has no power causing it to 'turn on' would it? Or by some way is this possible?
Furthermore, there seems to be no guides on how to open the Harddrive. There is a 'lock' sign on the back of the harddrive with a hole next to it, which i poked around in with nothing there (i was assuming its a latch or something). Is there no Buffalo supported guide for this? Or at least someone here with a walkthrough?
