: Web Access Help

I'm trying to set-up web access on my Linkstation Live, but can't seem to get it to work.

I have set my router to forward port 9000 to the local IP address on the linkstation and when I go on canyouseeme.org it manages to communicate with port 9000.

Whilst on a PC on the network going to www.buffalonas.com/myname takes me to the web access screen correctly.

However if I try and access it from outside of my network it re-directs to my IP address followed by :9000 but then displays web page not found.

Any ideas?.

Thanks,

Chris

What kind of router do you have.  It seems that you might be double natting.

Thanks for the reply, it's a Belkin Router with built in ADSL modem.

You might be double natting.  Which means you are running through two firewalls.  You will need to call the router manufacturer and check.

Spoken to Belkin who are adamant that as it is a combined router and modem then it can't be double nating.

Any ideas?

The plot thickens, when I go to buffalonas.com it redirects me to an IP address and then says cannot be found.

However if I swap port 9000 for port 8080 (BT client) then this loads up prefectly from outside the network.

Any ideas?

PM me your info.  Your buffalonas.com name and make a separate account with a usernam/password and send that to me also. let me see how it redirects on my end.
