Disaster for me.
I have used this linkstation from new for years. Today I relocated it in my office, including disconnecting the LAN cable and power supply and re-conencting both. Upon re-starting it immediately is in the 7 flashing red light mode, which the online manual tells me is no hard drive found. My PC cannot see the linkstation either, but I guess that is because the machine is not operational. It is also making a hell of a racket. I have switched the device on and off multiple times before, in fact in the last week.
I tried to re-install (I still have the original disk), but that is not compatible with Windows 10. However I fear that if the linkstation will not even start to a steady state, that is not relevent.
So is there anything I can do. Please don't shout but I have hugely important data on this device, that I don't have elsewhere.

Well - blow me down. After looking at dozens of threads and fearing the worst. I found this one:-

I had managed to swap the power supply for my modem and linkstation over. All working now - time to look at backing data up.

I'll have to remember that in the future. If you have a multimeter you could check the voltage on the bad supply to confirm that was the issue.
I assume you're already making a backup of this data just in case. It would be a shame to find out that the drive is dying and that the bad power supply was just a coincidence.
