Failed to operate RAID array. Please resubmit after restart

Why does it say that? Are my 10TB hard drives too big for it to handle?

Model TS-XE8.0TL/R5

I believe they ship with up to 12TB on storage( 3TB X 4 drives)

My understanding is that once you got past the 2TB limit, you could use all modern drives.

However there is some issue with this machine creating the raid volume.

Thanks.

I haven’t tried on this specific device though I have on a similarish one (ls-qvl). There is a hard 16TB volume limit, I beleive this is corresponds to a 32-bit address space * 4k blocks but don’t quote me on it.

I would expect with 10tb drives on a 32-bit arm device you could operate in a non-raid or possibly raid1 configuration but raid 0/5/6/10/etc would cause problems.

I spent a fair amount of time experimenting with 4x6tb drives about 2 years ago and was unable to find a way around this with either the stock firmware or running debian.
