: Great hardware, horrible software
: tginsandiego March 03, 2019, 10:18:05 PM
Been using a Buffalo NAS for about 3 months now.  I love the convenience, size, and price, but the bundled software and management system is so bad I will never purchase a Buffalo storage solution again.  For instance,

1.  No way to delete a shared folder, other than reformatting the drive (?!)
2.  No support here, apparently, as there are questions that are years old without any reply or response.
3.  My NAS reports 700 GB is currently used, even though all other tools report only 500 GB used.  There are no tools to help determine the discrepancy.
4.  I used the built in "backup" software, but can't delete any of the folders created while testing the system.

I love the hardware, but man....your management software seems circa 1990, and lacks basic tools I would expect from any storage solution.  Very disappointed.

1) read the Manual. You can create and delete a share. Which NAS do you use?
2) …
3) the linkstation shows you the used space for the MFT. A new formatted drive uses space for that.
4) the folders uses root permissions. Try FTP to delete them. Or open SSH and delete them with putty.
