: Drive station HD-CEU2 1TB - turboUSB cannot be enabled
: Lemontea June 27, 2009, 06:28:32 AM

Hi, I can open the drive, putting in and getting out files.

However, when I try to install the driver, it said "DriveStation not detected. Check the data cable and power connection, and try running setup again."

I am sure that the cable and power connection have no problem.

Also, I can't enable the TurboUSB. When I do so, it said that " TurboUSB function cannot be enabled"

Can anybody help me? please~ /_\

P.S. My HD-CEU2 is not a new one.

So, you can access the drive fine when trying to get data, just the utilities cannot find it?

Try downloading the utilities from the downloads section of this site here, and uninstall your current versions first.

What operating system is on your computer?

Which version of Windows are you using? Is it a 32 or 64bit version, as far as im aware the Turbo USB driver will not work on a 64bit OS, only 32bit so you might want to verify this.

Yes, I can access the drive but the utilities cannout recognize the drive.

I cannot download the utilities from your website. It said that my serial no. is invaild. Is this because I bought the drive in Hong Kong?

As I see on the box of the harddisk, the product name is HD-CE1.0TU2-AP

I can only find HD-CE1.0TU2 on the website...Orz

p.s. I am using Windows XP Home Edition SP3

Actually, I can use the turboUSB function at first. But I cannot use it anymore after I re-install my windows...

Yes, you need to download Utilities/Firmware from the website of the region the product was purchased. This site only accepts serial numbers from products of North America. Can you read Chinese? Try installing from there site! If you can't PM me!

As for your OS, if you dont know, it is probably 32 bit... Double check by going to Start> Right click My Computer> select Properties.

I am currently trying the one downloaded from the Chinese Buffalo website. It does not work.

And I have checked "My computer> properties", there is no information about 32bit or 64bit....Orz

hmm... What software exactly are you trying to use? Is it a single piece of software your trying to install, or just running the Auto Run Installation from the CD?

**Note- Just to inform you (just incase you didnt know), There is no software needed to run the drive, it will function normally!

I think I am using the utilities provided by the Chinese Buffalo website.

I open the file "DriveNavi.exe" and then I can choose to install the "turboUSB"

However, the turboUSB cannot be enabled.

P.S. I can enable the turboUSB before I re-install the windowsXP...

What is the error message that you get?

Have you tried installing it on another system?

When I try to install the driver, it said "DriveStation not detected. Check the data cable and power connection, and try running setup again.

After I install the TurboUSB, when I try to enable it, it said " TurboUSB function cannot be enabled.

I have not tried them on other computer yet. But I can use the function before I re-install my windows. Now I can't.

Make sure Windows is all up to date, try updating your BIOS/Chipset. The fact that you can access the drive fine and it does function as a USB drive... And especially along with this...

leads me to believe that it is a software issue with Windows.

You would have to go to your motherboard/computer manufacturers website.  Some computer manufacturers will allow you to just type in your model number to find updates.  Others don't allow you to do this and you will need to find out your motherboard manufacturer and model and go to their website.

Have you tried installing the software on another computer?

Try downloading the software from this website instead of using the CD.

If you can access the drive and transfer data, then the drive itself is fine and it seems to be software issues.

Dowloaded CD

 file:///C:/Documents%file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/palmer/My%20Documents/Downloads/HD-CEU2.zip%20Settings/palmer/My%20Documents/Downloads/HD-CEU2.zip

Extracted all files

Run DriveNavi.exe

Options

Popup message box

Yellow triangle with exclamation mark

Text is just "?????????????"      ------ very helpful

Result is Program Files\Buffalo\TurboUSB\TurboUSB for HD-CEU2 shortcut

and Uninstaller shortcut

The uninstaller shortcut seems to work! The other doesn't appear to do anything.

XP Pro Version 2002 SP3 - patched to the wazzzzooooooooooo

Turbo USB is supposed to massively speed up drive transfer rate. To say it's just a software problem and the drive is fine is not good. It is not the value proposition that was presented.

Also, the firmware update?? hd-ceu2-v300.exe does not appear to do anything. How do you install the fw update???

Oh, and after TurboUSB installation shows the exclamation window and you close that. Then you get a Popup that says TurboUSB cannot be enabled.
