I have a ew hard drive, but I cannot get the format button to work in the Buffalo utility.

I have a new hard drive, but I cannot get the format button to work in the Buffalo utility, drive 2 shows as error. How do I get a new SEAGATE 2 Terabyte drive recognized by my Buffalo Linkstation LS-WXL444.
