As per my post in ideas, Can Melco clarify when an upgrade to the SqueezeCenter software to 7.7.1 wil be available, can someone contact Japan and ask pls ? as the new logitech squeezebox touch i bought this christmas is aleady on a later version of the supported software than my existing Linkstation LS-WVL Kirkwood Nas. (one of the reasons I bought the Squeezebox was your support for it in the firmware). The Squeezebox Touch upgrades when it detects a later or even earler verisioned Squeezebox library ie running on the SBS server be it windows, linkstation or MySqueezebox_com sites. Buffalo Linkstation Pro *VL has squeezecenter already installed 7.5.x and supported by Melco ! When will the upgrade to 7.7.1 be avaialble, pls ?
It would be good to know that I don't know have to replace my WVL with another supplier who do support their SBS installs e.,g QNAP/Synology or Readynas.
Cheers
Shaz
what issues are you seeing with two different versions?
Interesting question, when the my question isn't about a fault and I wasn't planning to raise one for it, this is more a Service Request. ?
Thanks for asking tho, although I don't expect a resolution without an upgrade to 7.7.1, which is the minimum am I hoping for not a workaround.
* On the Touch : It continually demands to upgraded by the linkstation, on connecting it requests a firmware upgrade (Which is actually a downgrade! to 7.5.1)
* the Touch I believe is causing the linkstation to run in safe mode....not sure if thats because of the firmware difference, all I know is if I force it to take it out of safe mode, the linkstation squeezeserver crashes when connected to by the the touch.
* these problems don't occur on Windows running 7.7.1 and nor Ubuntu nor Readynas. I believe the other soho nas providers are on 7.6.* with an active community support.
This is the reason for my request, when will QV/WV catch up. If there are no plans to release an upgrade on the Linkstation, I will look for an alternative, or go down the customised root which I believe is being worked on elsewhere.
