: WZR-HP-G300NH-AP cannot go to N-level

I just bought a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH-AP, firmware v1.74. I have one laptop with Intel wifi 5100, two laptops with Atheros wifi. All of the three laptops are stuck at 54mbps and I dunno how to enable to reach 300mpbs. Below are my wifi settings:

wireless radio-ENABLE

wireless channel-6(manual)

300mbps mode: bandwidth-20Mhz

separate feature-DISABLE

wireless authentication-WPA2-PSK

wireless encryption-TKIP

mode of acquiring IP address-acquire an IP Address Automatically from a DHCP Server

My ISP is i-Cable from Hong Kong. I'm using a cable modem. I'm frustrated about the connection speed since my old router can reach 150mbps without any fuss

change the band width to 40MHz and drop the encryption to WPA for testing.

i tried both, but with no success, the laptop is still stuck at 54 mpbs...

In my old router, there is a setting where i can limit the mode of wifi to be n level only. Can i do that on my current firmware? or do I need to use dd-wrt to do it?

Just an update: I've read  that it would only go to n-level if you choose the encryption to WPA2-AES. Now I'm using AES/TKIP mixed mode with my laptop using AES. It kinda worked, the laptop is displaying 65mbps to 130mbps and it can stream 720p smoothly on wifi, so it's problem solved for me:smileyhappy:
