: Shares becomes un-accessible until NAS is rebooted
: BrendanO February 07, 2011, 09:23:26 AM

I have a Tera station TS-XL/R5. I have created a share I use to store CCTV files. The share works for about 12 hours before becoming un-accessble. You can view the share when to connect to \\NAS-Name or IP address but it will not let you open the share or either of the default shares (which I don't use).

There are no restrictions on the CCTV share. Once rebooted the share then works fine for about 12 - 24 hours before stopping again.

The share receives data from 3 100mb/s cameras via a GB switch so trafic volume should not be the issue.

The NIC appears to operating at GB speed.

It uses a fixed IP and is registed in the DNS correctly.

I am using the latest firmware version 1.20

Regards

Brendan

The latest firmware version is 1.5. Update the unit, reset it through the interface (system , then restore/erase) and then set it back to a static ip address. Also make sure the switch on the back is set to manual and not auto.

Thanks

That seems to have done the trick. Certainly the performance is much better. I had to upgrade the firmware to 1.41 before I was able to upgrade to 1.50 but once I reset it back to factory defaults it all worked much better.
