: NFS support for TeraStation Pro
: cmjp1 July 15, 2009, 04:10:11 AM

We've got a couple of TeraStation Pro's (TS-H4.0TG/R5) which is running on 1.22 firmware

Trying to run VM's off it (using ESX) and it fails due to a file size limit.   I need to add NFS file support which is documented as being possible for the TeraStation Pro II (using FW 1.33-1.32).

Can I run 1.33 FW on my box as there appears to virtually no difference between the Pro and Pro II?  Or is there another was to get NFS support to allow my VMs to be stored and ran from the NAS box?

TeraStation Pro = TS-**TGL/R5

TeraStation Pro II = TS-H**TGL/R5

      ** is the capacity.

If you are using TS-H4.0TGL/R5, you are using TeraStation Pro II 4TB model. You should be able to update the firmware to ver.1.33 to use NFS.

Both TeraStations look same, but inside of the box is quite different. So, you shouldn't apply TeraStation Pro II's firmware to TeraStation Pro.

Thanks michianian for the update - it would appear that we do have a Pro II then - I'm sure when we orderred then a year back they were jus Pro's.

We'll upgrade the FW on one box after we've backed it up.

This is the correct thing to do, come back if you continue to have issues with this!
