Hello,

 

I'm thinking about buying this device but I have some questions first. Particularly, does the power saving feature only work when the power saving software is installed? Or is the software just used to configure the drivestation firmeware? The reason I ask this is because I will probably be hooking up this device to about 4 different computers (some of which are not mine) and so I was wondering if I would have to install the software on each computer to enable power saving?

 

Power saving is important for me because I'm usually on the computer 12 hours a day and I only need to access the files on the device about twice per day.

Yes, the software would need to be installed on each computer individually. :)
