: DriveStation Duo - The LED for Drive 2 would flash green every 12 seconds
: Blazinmob April 20, 2009, 12:32:21 PM

I have a new DriveStation Duo (model # HD-W2.0TIU2/R1) and my computer is running Windows XP 64bit OS.  I'm using the USB cable to connect the Duo to my computer.  I ran the CD - DriveStation Setup Wizard (pls note i used the FireWire setup first, since the Raid Setup did not work I changed to USB... uninstall and then reinstall).  Again the RAID Setup Utility would not work, as per the following error message: "Error is occured while searching. Device might be in use. Restart Windows and try again."

I rebooted and tried again, no luck....I rebooted and tried again, no luck....

While I was looking at the Duo I discovered that the Drive 2 LED would flash green every 12 seconds and then go out. I think this is connected to the error message I'm getting from the Raid Setup Utility.

Please help...

P.S. Both drives are working because I reformatted them to NTFS and I save a small amount of data on Both and when the Duo is not connected to the computer with the power on, the drive 2 LED still flashes green every 12 seconds and then go out.

Try running the utility on a 32 bit Windows if possible and/or another computer.

Try installing the RAID utility to your comp and take the CD out of your computer, make sure there is nothing else open that is connected to (or looking for) the drive.

Also try this:

Thanks for the info... I will try them out and let you know.

Thanks Kevin it worked....  I tried your steps in order but that did not work so while the Drive was disabled and the partitions deleted I connected the Duo to my 32 bit Windows 2000 computer and ran the utility.  The Raid Utility worked and I was able to change the Raid Mode.  The rest is history.

Now the Duo is working on my 64 bit Windows XP version.  Thanks again.
