: LinkStation Pro Duo LS-WTGL/R1-V3 w/ PS3 YES or NO!?!?!
: dhnobles March 20, 2009, 11:37:45 PM
The LinkStation Pro Duo LS-WTGL/R1-V3 says right on the site it is compatable with any DLNA certified media player. The PS3 is a DLNA certified media server. I bought this device specifically to access it with the PS3. Will it work or will it not work? And if the answer is "NO, it will not work" WHY DOES IT SAY ON THE SITE THAT IT WILL!?!?

Esantiago, Any chance you could give me a quick idea of how you connected the two? My NAS is up a running and the DLNA media server function is enabled but I can not see the NAS on my PS3 when I go to "Search for Media Servers". Did you do anything special (Other than to turn on the media player option in the PS3 setup menu)?

Thanks

well, I just figured this out myself. All my fault, but for anyone who needs to know here is how to make the NAS visible.

Log into you web admin.

go to "Media Server" tab

Enable the media sserver at the top then scroll down to the Data Base refresh settings

Check the "refresh now" box and click apply

that should do the job

I used the twonky media server at port 9050 and yes you scan media contents and on maintenance tab I also rebuild database. The twonky interface also gives you more freedom in choosing how to arrange your navigation tree. Oh and I also disabled UPnP Timeout Messages.
