: Unable to assign Domain groups to shared folder R/W

I picked up a Linkstation Pro Duo. My intent is to use the device to house older data so I can free up space on our live server... until I can order a true SAN.

From the device management page:

LinkStation Description
Buffalo LinkStation

Model Name

LS-WTGL/R1-V3

Firmware Version

3.07
I successfully joined the device to a Windows 2000 AD domain and I can see that it knows about Domain users and groups.
The problem is that when I set up a share I'd like to give Domain Admins (group) R/W access to the share, and Domain Users (or some other group) read-only access... I can add the groups to the Read only section of the permissions page, but when I try to add a Domain group to the Read/Write section, nothing happens! I highlight the group and click on the << button next to the R/W section and nothing happens. If I do the same on the Read Only section it works.
Suggestions?

If it works the same as the LinkStation Pro, you first need to add them to the Read section, then hit the other << to move them from there over to the Read/Write section.

It would appear that you are correct! I was able to do as you suggested. Now I need to dig up another account to test with, I'm in so many groups, some of which are on the R/O list.

Thanks!
