: Laptop can see WHR-HP-G300N but no longer connects to the internet

I've been using a WHR-HP-G300N for about 3 months with no real problems. Yesterday my HP laptop (running Win 7) was unable to connect to the internet, although it was indicating that it was connected to the router (Windows connectivity indicates I'm connected 'locally' to my router which has a specific name, and I can see the router's IP in DOS when I run ipconfig). Other wireless devices (e.g. my smartphone and an Acer netbook) could connect to the router and then the internet with no problem. When I logged into the router and checked the MAC table all 3 devices (HP laptop, smartphone, netbook) are listed. I tried the usual things like re-booting the laptop, re-booting/re-setting both the router and the cable modem, changing the Wi-Fi channel from 'auto' to various channels (and then back to 'auto'), disabling/re-enabling the wireless adapter on the laptop but still unable to reach the internet (but laptop still listed in MAC table and apparently connecting to router). I've even tried disabling and re-enabling the wireless security (I'm using  WPA-PSK, TKIP, AES). I believe I'm using DD-WRT v24SP2 firmware and I currently have one 'wired' connection (my desktop) attached to it (which also connects to the internet with no problems).

For what you say it seems as a problem related only to your laptop. Since you have WIN7, why don´t you try to restore to a previous stage when everything was working fine?
