I recently decided to purchase this router, and unfortunately I'm having some issues. I'm finding the router to be largely unstable. After long periods of running, the router seems to become increasingly unresponsive to clients. Our smart phones tend to switch from our very strong wifi signal to the 3g network. Browsing the web will occasionally crawl and report that connectivity has been lost. Also, doing anything persistent with network access (local or Internet) tends to disconnect pretty quickly.
We did not have these problems with our WRT54G. Still I was skeptical that the router had as issue, so I went ahead and did a little testing. I began to test by pinging the router from my PC and my wife's laptop in different locations of the house. The responses were pretty similar:

the ping latency between clients begins to vary widely from <1ms to timing out. Trying to do anything with the network during the "timeout periods" is pretty useless. Moreover, my client's data rate goes down to 6.5 mbps at these points.
It's become a pretty cripling problem, we rely on our wireless pretty heavily. Especially when working at home and needing a stable VPN link. I'm thinking about returning, but I wanted to just be sure that I didn't miss a setting or something. Here's what I've tried so far to no avail:
1. Set the slider switch to "router"
2. Disable auto-channel, set the channel to 1 where no channels exist.
3. Upgraded to 1.74 firmware
4. Moved the router to many different locations
The only thing that seems to work is switching back to the WRT54G, but I'd like an N router :)
Is there anything I'm missing?
