: No internet connection on WHR-HP-G54- HELP!
: cdub December 01, 2008, 11:54:53 PM

I have had this router for qute some time now and have been satisfied until today.

Today when I went to access internet on my computer via wireless it wasn't working.  I also connected my computer staight into the back of the router and there was no internet connection.

The network works both wired and wirelessly as confirmed by me being able to use my Slingbox over the network.  The cable modem works because when I connect the computer straight to the cable modem there is internet.

Firmware has been updated. Modem has been reset to factory defaults.  Using the internet configuration wizard has not been able to generate a connection between the modem and router.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

chris

Set the router for the correct type of internet service you have, then clone your Mac address (label in the routers interface as "wan mac address" ).  To get this from your PC go to start run then type cmd  in the dos prompt type ipconfig /all

you will see a physical address consisting of a-f 0-9

enter that number in the router.

save and power cycle.

Also make sure your router is on Auto not BRI
