Hey there guys I got the linkstation duo diskless of course I put my HDD in and so on.
So now I have a question how can I configure the linkstation to use VPN? what I mean is for it to use a vpn only like on my pc I can use a vpn software and it only my pc is affected , I would like the linkstation to always run under the VPN.

I have the webaccess configured via UPNP even my router shows that the linkstation has automaticually configured the port etc and I still can't access it outside LAN.

Before I posted I tried many things and reading topics on this fourm , I have ports forwarded by UPNP and still won't let me log in outside my lan.
You cannot add the Linkstation to a VPN server.
Alright then , have 1 more question I have the ports for SSL forwarded even the website that checks my ports says 443 is open for SSL , what ports does the linkstation duo use for SSL?

Well I would thought the support here would be a little better , another bump I tried searching for the SSL ports everywhere it says 443 , I can log in to admin panel with SSL but not webui for downloads/upload..
Wrong understanding of VPN!
You have to configure your router (!) to accept VPN connections. Assuming your router contains VPN server functionality.
After this you can establish from a computer outside of your LAN a VPN connection with your router. After this the external computer is treated as if it is inside the LAN. You can now access your linkstation using the IP you have assigend to your linkstation inside your LAN (e.g. 192.168.x.x private network segment).
AVM FritzBox routers have VPN server functionality which is even compatible with VPN clinet of iphone. This means one can establish VPN connection between iphone and FritzBox through 3G cellular network and use an app like filebrowser to access all files on linkstation through VPN channel.
Yes I am aware of that I have a DD-Wrt router that I could configure it with VPN via PPTP or others however I just wanted the linkstation to run under 24/7 vpn , and still cannot get answer about the SSL port :/

How to setup a VPN connection i have described. If you do not disconnect you have 24/7 VPN access from cmputer outside of your LAN which established the VPN connection. If you have two different LANs A and B you can establish VPN connection between router of LAN a and router of LAN B this offers 24/7 VPN connection between these two LANs too. VPN has nothing to do dou with linkstation.
Regarding the SSL port. In your local LAN open a webbrowser enter https://ip-of-your-linkstation hit return.
if you see the admin webinterface, HTTPS is working. Port is 443.
For using Webaccess (not the admin Web-UI) with HTTPS you have to activate HTTPS in webaccess setting in admin UI and choose a external port. see this screenshot (german) or see linkstation manual.

your router has to forward chosen https port to linkstation.
Yep so let's say ip is : 0.0.0.0:443 I can access that page << and my webaccess is 40832 I think but I cannot access it with https://0.0.0.0:443 or :48032
sftp however works so that is why I am having issue with https
You have to be more specifiic detailed! Please post a screenshot of your webaccess setting in linkstation admin webinterface.
example:
your linkstation ip: 192.168.68.10
Webadmin interface: http://192.168.68.10 accessable from internal LAN
Webaccess: interface: http://192.168.68.10:<port configured in webadmin interface in section webaccess internal NAS port number> accessable from internal LAN
Webaccess: interface: https://192.168.68.10:<port configured in webadmin interface in section webaccess internal NAS port number> accessable from internal LAN, if option HTTP/SSL encryption is activated in admin webinterface in section webaccess
For external access port forwarding has to be configured:
<port configured in webadmin interface in section webaccess external port> forward to <port configured in webadmin interface in section webaccess internal NAS port number>
If access from internal LAN is working, then it is problem / misconfiguration of port forwarding in your router.
